The installation of water meters is to start in Killarney town within the next ten days.
Killarney Town Manager, John Breen made the announcement at the monthly meeting of Killarney Town Council.
Mr. Breen said there would be metering activity in some areas of the town in the coming week or so. He said he was not yet aware what parts of the town would be the first to see meters installed.
Independent councillor, Donal Grady said it made no sense to disrupt the town in the pre-Christmas period with work of this nature.
