A Killarney Town Councillor is calling on Kerry County Council to stop sending out letters about the household charge.
Cllr Donal Grady says there are residents of council houses who are exempt from the charge who have received letters in recent days demanding payment.
Yesterday Kerry County Council Communications Officer Padraig Corkery, said ideally there would have been a national homeowner database to work from. However he said they are working from a number of sources in order to compile a database, and so there will be some errors.
Cllr Grady wants the letters to stop. Cllr Grady says the household charge is putting huge pressure on people.
He says the Government has no idea of the hardship being experienced by many.
